Asphalt shingle rejuvenation

Asphalt Shingle Roof Rejuvenation in Brandon

A plant-oil treatment that feeds the flexibility back into dried-out asphalt shingles so they shed water and hold their granules — commonly another five to seven years from a roof that is still sound.

What the treatment does

Asphalt shingles age because the Florida sun drives the oils out of the asphalt binder. Dried out, a shingle goes stiff, cracks along its edges and loses the granules that shield it from UV. This treatment is a soy-based oil that soaks into the shingle and restores some of those oils, so it flexes under heat instead of cracking and keeps hold of its granules. It is maintenance for a sound roof — not a repair for one that has already begun to fail.

Which roofs it suits

Rejuvenation works on asphalt shingle roofs that are aging but still whole. The roof look tells us for sure.

A good fit

  • Asphalt shingles in the eight-to-twenty-year range
  • No active leaks and sound decking underneath
  • Shingles still flat, with fading and granule loss but no widespread cracks

Not a candidate

  • Active leaks or soft, water-damaged decking
  • Large areas of missing, curled or cracked shingles
  • Tile, metal or flat roofs, which this treatment is not for

How it works

How the job runs

01

Roof look

We check flexibility, granule loss, age and any damage, and tell you plainly whether treatment is worth doing.

02

Small fixes first

Any loose shingles, exposed nails or vent boots are flagged so the spray goes onto a sound surface.

03

Application

On a dry afternoon the soy-based product is applied evenly across the shingles — usually a few hours.

04

Follow-up

You get a clear account of the work and a sense of when a re-treatment makes sense.
